In Which Phase One is Partially Complete

It's coming together, just very slowly. It's mostly because we have to wait to put the new desk together because there isn't a phone jack in the other room and we need that before we can move the computer. It's that "give a mouse a cookie" syndrome (which also affects my kitchen).

But here's what we did complete: the reading nook. (Nook is such a fun word!)

This corner is where the computer used to be, but is now against the other wall. We also moved out five short bookcases and replaced them with these lovely giants, and because of that, had to decide which books needed to be put away for a while. The kids' books went downstairs and the nicer ones remained up here. The green chair also reclines, which makes for a pretty awesome nook. I'll find some fun art to put on the wall, and it'll will then be a little place for me to escape.
