In Which We Gobble Twice

Happy Thanksgiving!

mmmm, yummy Thanksgiving food. Even better, yummy Thanksgiving leftovers!

We went to Ammon's grandmother's house this year, it being his family's "turn." We normally switch off years between our families. Unfortunately his parents and siblings weren't able to make it because of the crazy weather we just had and the fact that apparently Idaho doesn't clear their roads very well.

So we spent a few hours with some extended family that we didn't know all too well, but got to know a little bit better. Audrey made instant friends with another girl cousin her age, and they went off and explored the crawl space toy room in Grandma's house.

Things that surprised me while we were there:

--Nathan ate turkey. He isn't much of a meat eater (aside from chicken nuggets).
--Audrey ate coconut cream pie. She picked it out of all the dessert selections and happily ate it. This FLOORED me. (She also ate a roll and some carrots. That was the best I could get her to do.)

So because we met early at Grandma's house, we decided to also make a visit to my parents' house, against tradition. (*gasp* *shock* *the horror!*) We were mostly going for dessert, but since they didn't eat until 5 pm, we got a second Thanksgiving feast!

Nathan downed the fruit salad. After all, he is my fruit bat. When he saw me making the apple crisp this morning, he demanded a slice and did not let me rest until he got one. He is very insistent about his fruit.

Audrey... I think she ate another roll. I'm not too sure. Hopefully someday she will outgrow her food aversions and learn to enjoy the awesomeness that is Thanksgiving.
