Well, we've made it this far... I think we can do another 7 years.
We haven't been able to do too much for our anniversary in the last couple of years (babies, moving, poor college students), and this year was looking to do the same when Ammon caught a nasty head cold a few days earlier.
But even with his congested head, we still managed to get a few hours out sans kids, thanks to my brother and his awesome daughter K who looked after our kids as well as her brothers. Thanks K!
We grabbed a early dinner at Tepanyaki, a first for both of us. We will definitely be going back! We both love real Japanese food, and it was so yummy! The chef put on an amazing show while chopping and cooking the meat and vegetables. The little boy seated at the other end of the table stared in amazement at the flames and the onion volcano. We found ourselves watching his reactions more than our own.
After dinner, we walked around the shopping plaza and browsed around the bookstore and a few other places, finishing up some gift shopping for the kids. (I am reminded daily that a certain girl has a birthday coming up, so I had better be ready!) Then we wandered over to Coldstone and had some yummy ice cream.
Went home, dropped off the things we bought and went down the street to pick up the kids. Audrey didn't want to leave and Nathan was waving bye-bye the moment he came up the stairs and saw us.
It was really nice to have a night out because we don't do it often enough. I'm really looking forward to our little trip to Denver in a few weeks!
