No More Crib

It was not my choice to move The Boy into a bed so soon. He didn't climb out of it and he slept happily in it. Unfortunately, along came a crib recall which forced us to dispose of our crib and find something else for Nathan to sleep in. He screamed all through his naptime when I put him in a pack and play, so our next step was a big boy bed. Thankfully my parents had a spare one that they are letting us borrow until we have to buy a new crib or bunk beds or whatever--but that's not for a couple of years.

My biggest concern was Nathan staying in the bed at night. Being a boy, he is very adventurous, so releasing him into "the wild" was going to prove interesting. Thankfully he was tired enough last night that he was out like a light.

Then... THUD.

I ran up to his room, opened his door, and heard... snoring. He was in such a deep sleep that when he rolled off the bed, he just kept sleeping.

Two more THUDs happened, and the third time I finally tucked him tightly under the covers. (We do have a bed guard, but we hadn't put it on yet because we were only using the mattress to keep the bed low to the ground.)

A happy little boy burst into our room at 7 am this morning. Note to self: close bedroom door all the way.

And then... morning naptime came.

Naptime didn't happen.

But this did:

He was asleep behind the door for maybe 5-10 minutes--exhausted from all his work.
